Kagouti - by SheepDogWoof

Submitted by SheepDogWoof on

*EDIT*

THE MOST RECENT VERSION SCREENSHOT IS BELOW THESE SCREENSHOTS I WILL ADD A NEW SCREENSHOT BELOW THAT ONE WHEN I MAKE MORE PROGRESS

which, by the way, will be soon. I tend to work on these non stop for a few hours and I am constantly updating the screenshots so check back here often

The Clannfear is finished and I'm onto the Kagouti.

I think the Kagouti will be a good choice for my second project, as it's similar enough to the Clannfear that I can use all the things I learned while working on it, but different enough from the Clannfear that I might learn something new :)

*THIS IS TAKING A VERY LONG TIME.*

i have to admit, thats a nice clean paint job thus far.

Dont be afraid to use some photo layers.
Look up ZAPPLink texture methods.

Also, are you using the mask by cavity? you can paint the crevices or sharp edges exclusively.

Thanks (:

And oooooh O: I didn't know about this ZAPPlink thing.

Damnit I wish I knew that before, I manually masked each scale individually to paint the crevices a slightly darker shade xD

Damn SheepDogWolf, this looks absolutely mindblowing, good work there! Thank you for sticking close to the original Morrowind one. To me, that's most important.

Thanks a lot (: I'm a lore nerd, so continuity with the original Morrowind is essential to me. As you can see though, I've added a few of my own touches, I mean, graphics have changed since Morrowind, so some updating is necessary to make it look less flat :P

thanks (: I'm doing fine detail work at the moment. To me the scales didn't look right, so I'm individually texturing each one.

And to see you literally did these 2 in less then two weeks...waahh! There has not been any updates in a while!! Dying to see more! I cannot believe I have spent over 6 hours checking out Skywind today! Second I found out I went nuts!!

Sorry I didn't see your comment, I haven't been on the forums in a few weeks. The reason why there hasn't been any updates is because I've been practicing so much (:

Aha that Kagouti was started maybe 4-5 days after picking up Zbrush for the FIRST time with 0 knowledge of any modelling software.

So I'm taking some online lessons and practicing a ton.

I think you can make more wide mouth & mandibles (with big sagging skin fold under it).

I like when people bump 10 month old threads.
