So far:

KAGOUTI, Almost done, but want to learn some more before I deem it "finished"

CLANNFEAR, redone, the previous version was the first Zbrush project I ever did, and it is rather unprofessional, and sloppily done. The only reason it came out so well was because of all the tips and suggestions from you guys. I think this one looks MUCH more like the original.. It is still only 25% complete I would say though.

DREUGH, recently completely redone from scratch. The first was good, but again, a lot of things that could have been done quicker, and better. None of the tentacles were symmetrical and the shape of the arms was totally wrong.

Here is the new version. Also unfinished like everything in this thread xD

OGRIM

YAGRUM BAGARN

ALIT

SLAUGHTERFISH

Guar will be started soon.

Only just started texturing.

Also, I am going to completely remake both the Clannfear and Dreugh from scratch soon. A lot of mistakes were made with those two :P

The current Clannfear made me have to change my pants. You sure you wanna scrap that?

Yeah I've learned a lot since then. Of course it will still look pretty much the same. I mean it will still be based on the same Clannfear, and I will look at my old one as a reference. But I can make it better.

You're gonna need to wear a diaper whenever you log onto the forums.

When you're done making the Kagouti, can you send me the texture?

I think it would be cool if the blighted version actually looked different. I'm going to attempt to make it sick looking.

Redoing the Clannfear and Kagouti again!! Hope you know what you're doing!? Hey only if you want, but maybe you could convert the models into a 3d view site, so that people can get a better perspective of the work.

http://3dfile.io/

Ogrim face is coming off a bit flat, so looks a bit cartoony.

I see no mention of doing fabricants yet (they're highly important for the Tribunal expansion).

I think the Ogrim should look fatter and more stupid

Fabricants are included in this mod. So, with permission maybe the model can be used?

i always hated the Oghrim, looked like a child's rendition of a scary teacher at their school.

Can u add more scales and desaturate the green, and add variation of tones?
Also, which character in skyrim is this being rigged to?

The ones I would love to see you do are Nix Hound, Ash Goul, Lame Corprus Stalker, Durzog, Hulking Fabricant, Verminous Fabricant, Heart of Lorkhan,  Morrowind style Mudcrab, and the Morrowind style Advanced Steam Centurion.

Also aren't you going to give that Ogrim his bitchin nipple ring? :D

Awwwyeah, but last. as it is much easier to model with symmetry on for as long as I can before I add some asymmetrical details like the nipple ring.

Also, there will be variations. You might see and Ogrim with the colour A. from the picture above, and a nipple ring. Or you might see an Ogrim with the colour C. and a nipple ring in BOTH nipples. You get the point.

I would love to do all of those creatures (I bet you expected me to say "But" and then a reason why I could not do them all afterwards just now)

So I will do as many of them as I can, because I love doing this and can't get enough of it, and I learn something new every time I make a new model xD.

But... you won't see them any time soon, I'm currently working on all the creatures on the main post of this topic, even redoing some of them from scratch.

nixhound is already being worked on. Durzog and fabricants are already done

Someone mentioned morrowind style mudcrabs. I disagree. I really don't want to see the mudcrub remade, since I think the skyrim ones are awesome and I think redoing them is just silly. The morrowind ones were plaing awful lumps of crap, I'm not sure why we would want to make copys of them. :D

I agree, maybe if we make the talking mudcrab merchant the make it look like the old one but there is nothing wrong with skyrim mudcrabs

Aha just lettin ya know so that you guys don't think I'm abandoning you forever xD

Also yeah, there is no reason to redo the mudcrabs. Besides, they might as well be harmless critters... I dont think anybody would even notice if we remade them or not.

Now if somebody were to make a giant empirical crab, that is a different story.

That should totally be a mod at some point. Also, I would hate to come across a crab that isn't real evidence. (lol similar words.)

Yeah, the mudcrabs, slaughterfish and skeleton should stay put imo. As well as the Solstheim creatures like spriggans...etc :)

I'm glad to see people agreeing on this particular point. Something that made no sense to me during the time that Hashmi1 was regularly contributing to the Morroblivion project, was that he put his considerable talents to use re-rigging old morrowind creatures to work properly in Oblivion. This was understandable when we had no accurate stand in for a specific creature, but I never understood why he converted creatures that we had Oblivion equivalents of, such as the Frost atronach, Storm atronach, Scamp, Clannfear, Golden saint, etc. It was a large step backwards in terms of graphics as well as an immersion (Summon your Oblivion-style frost atronach next to the old morrowind-style one, you'll see what I mean.), and it relieves me to see the Skywind team won't be doing the same thing.

Don't forget that converting over creatures have their own host of problems as well - it's best to make your own tbh.

Perhaps some sort of list should be made that describes which creatures should be redone and which should not.

So here is the new Clannfear so far. I think we can all agree that it looks MUCH more like the original than the first one I did. Which was, after all, my first project ever.

Now that I have a better grasp of the tools I can make it much closer to the Morrowind model.

Also, a question to Happy, Eloth, Mehh, anyone who has been here for a long time, etc.

Are you okay with me updating both the topic dedicated to the Clannfear, and this topic at the same time? I won't be making a new topic for each of my models in the future, like the Ogrim, Dreugh or Yagrum Bagarn, they will all be on this thread.

But some people will be more likely to click on the topic which actually has the name of the creature in it, like my Clannfear thread..

Also, the Kagouti and Dreugh will be redone too.

Again, dont worry if you really like the current Kagouti, he is still going to look pretty much the same, but even better, now that I know wtf I'm doing LOL.

It's your topic, you're the one doing all the dirty work, do what ever you feel like it to your topic.

Starting the Alit, based half on the original, and half on Dragomir's concept

I'm going to say the original look pretty goofy. I'm mean a head and an arse...really that is a creature!?

Please, please, please go with Dragomir's concept.

Butt-srsly.

For anybody sharing Happy's concerns, it will be very, VERY heavily influenced by Dragomir's concept. But I imagine most people wouldn't know what creature from Morrowind they were looking at from Drag's concept if you didn't tell them first.

All I am doing to make it look slightly more like the original is raise the hip bones and move the legs back further on the body, and elongate the head.

the body shape, colouration, and details will all be pulled from Dragomir's concept.

You're going to have to pull off some magic on this one my friend. I'm going to be hard convinced you can make old bum-face stumpy legs into a serious creature.

I'm mean it actually looks like the 3d modelers might have had a page missing when they got the design, and when they found out the the back half was missing, went "oh well". I can see the concept artist going, "Really!? You didn't think to ask why the back half of the creature is missing?"

The Alit and Kagouti are what happen when none of the creature design people understand the very basics of internal organs or balance. Unfortunately, the bit about it being tailless (which makes it even less balanced) is actually in some lore dialog (Damn you Briring and Gudling the Rascal!).

I'd say go with the lower leg sections of the original (looks better for balance), make up something that isn't a tail for the rear (gotta be lore-friendly), and go in between the concept and the original on everything else (that concept's mouth is too small, but the original's is too long and takes up too much of the body).

Agree with happychappy, The original looks very cartoonish and unrealistic, I'd much prefer something like this even if it's not "lore friendly" (perhaps not the triceratops head, but the general body and the arms remainders could be nice. Dragomir's concept is good too).

That is a Kagouti, not an Alit.

Hmmmmm, that changes things a bit. I wouldn't want to change the text in a book just to match a new design. If its in the lore, its in the lore. I'll see what a sort of stumpy proto tail  looks like.

It's NPC dialog from two different Nord hunters, not a book.

Ah, well either way, reference by NPCs or reference in a book isn't really that different.

you might make the argument that Bethesda changes lore to suit their needs all the time..

But we aren't Bethesda :P

Redesigning the Dreugh.

I realise that the tentacles are a little thin, and that both the claws on the right arms

*Holds up hands in L and backwards L shapes*

Yes, the ones on the right arms are much larger, and the ones on the *hand gestures* left are shrunken substantially.

Will fix those issues soon. Anything else though, feel free to point out.

Bottom right claw seems much smaller than he Morrowind one, whereas it's the opposite for the top left. Beyond that, looking fab.

maby make the lower arms longer so the are less usles for hime

Perhaps some form of a chitinous plating on the Dreugh's upper shoulders, as per the Morrowind version, would look nice.  Great work, this model is looking far more advanced than your previous version!

Also the upper left claw appears to be more 'hand-like'.

Thickened the tentacles, playing around with some armour plating on the shoulders and chest.

I will move onto the claws next, as it seems every claw is different from the other.

What a weird ass creature...

Looks great.

What do you guys think of these lower arms?

Made them longer, thats the only change made in this screenshot.

I think the sizes of the arms themselves were okay, but perhaps they should be slightly lower on the body.

One issue is the question of which skeleton is this going to be hooked to? The only creature I see this fitting to is the Seeker.

We are going to have to try and get a custom skele
