Actually, these look great!

Actually, these look great! However I feel like the yellow is a tiny bit too bright, I think there is a little too much contrast between the yellow and the brown.

But this is just what I think based off the pictures, Im sure in game the lighting will make it look just fine. Anyhow, it'd be nice to get a perfect texture.

What do you think about these

What do you think about these boots originally being heavy armor?

Well done Smart, as always I

Well done Smart, as always I'd say : ) .

Only one thing, have to agree about the yellow being a bit too bright. Ingame the contrast will be enhanced alot, so opting fora more brownish tone could work better, but as said only a minor thing.

Keep it up can't wait to see it finished !

actually it looks good on my

actually it looks good on my monitor, but by accident i had the chance to look at the boots on a other monitor and i thought the same like you so i give it shot and change that.but keep in mind that it may not look perfect because we all have different calibrated monitors. common issue.

I'll be the bastard to say - the geometry is too visible at the yellow part of the boots. Could you by any chance add another pair of vertices there to smooth the shape?

What I see everybody has some

What I see everybody has some issues with yellow part. I suppose in original boots it was sth like some hard surface protection (bone?). I know that you tried to do it similar like original but now for me it looks too modern. It looks like leather. Maybe only thing is to add some dirt on it and some scratches. And maybe change texture on a bit more on bone one. Maybe lower specular too.

I know this is not case of live and death but almost everyone in this topic pay attention on that, so it is very possible, that player will pay attention too. This is all what I have to say. Critique this is sth which we have to all handle on this site :P

Of course every asset could be always better, so you decide when you spare too much time on it or not (or maybe just chappy and eloth :P).

i want to be honest with you.

i want to be honest with you. i cant handle the public critique.. sadly, the changes you want hurt and make me angry.. it sucks my motivation away and i dont understand why its so important to you to critisize my work. i did not ask for your opinion. when i want your opinion, i gonna ask you.

i have read this last week " if people think your tough, they want to know how tough"... so you got me, iam not tougher than you are. i have feelings and they are hurt okey? so stop, please just stop. you are NOT helping me in any way! if you want to help me, then just shup up... please....

i upload the boots tomorrow and then you can change anything you want. it would be nice, if you send me a picture with the changes then.

please give me some rest. i thought you appreciate that i spend hundreds of hours to help bringing this mod alive?.... do you think critisizing helps me? NO... it just helps yourself.

i know the stuff i do is not perfect but you have to give me the free space to fail and improve my modeling in my own time. i need your support to keep motivated for skywind. the community is like a family to me. and family always support each other even if your not perfect. so its eather that or i have to go on, when i not feel welcome anymore.

i hope i make my standpoint clear. i wanted you to especially know, that iam just a human like you and that i am not perfect or recistant to anything.

thx, smartinius.

Skywind is a lot like Skyrim in that regard:

Skyrim was rushed to meet a cool release date, so many things were overlooked or ignored.
Skywind is being held back by an absurd level of OCD and perfectionism that causes many to wonder if it'll even be close to finished by the next TES release.

It's always a question of quality versus quantity, but going to the extreme in either is only going to hinder the project more than help it. For what it's worth, smartinus, I think they look perfect as they are now.

I agree with Schwerpunkt, And

I agree with Schwerpunkt, And i have a suggestion to make a really quick fix for the boots and finalize them.

Seeing as we arent remaking these models One - For - One we can be free to interprate these assets as we like, So my suggestion would be to recolor the toe piece to a dark brown, like a hard leather. Doesn't require much time and will keep them consistant.

Anyways, Love the work! Keep it up

Personally I don't have any

Personally I don't have any problem with the yellow toes.  Dunno why others seem to.  If you don't like it you can always pop it in Photoshop and alter it.

Hey, hey..

I didn't say that it looks bad or you can't handle with sb comments. I noticed only those comments, repeating "request". I know that everybody has some limited time here. If asset is accepted then it go to game. Maybe this is sth which we should have here, notification (asset done), and accepted by higher authorities. What I understand in "your assets can be always better" I understood situation where you think is asset is good and you don't need to improve it. When I do sth I know that every my piece could be better by adding and adding and adding details... but I have to say where my piece is good enough, to go further. I never think that some of my art is perfect, because there is always space to improve. But I don't have infinitive time. I don't say you are not good too because you created many models before, so I know you are skilled. Nobody is perfect and nothing is perfect, but step by step you can be better. You do it for yourself, so this is your decision when you end.

Good luck and I'm waiting for your further work here.

All modellers need to stop

Modellers need to stop trying to use the forums as a gallery. We post work, because we like to hear all those "good job" and "way to go" messages, but they come with a cost; opinions and critiques. It's just the nature of communal modding. Each person has in their head their own vision of how we want the final project to look, and the divergence causes a lot of friction.

Unfortunately, if we don't keep the forums active, the project will look dead to outsiders. Or I should say it will look more dead than it already does. So we have two choices. Either turn things in directly and only deal with a few critics from the higher ups or post in the forums and try not to let our feelings get hurt. As I said, we should try to keep the forums active so the modellers need to toughen up or just learn to ignore the negative posts. Post your pic, then never click on the thread again if that's what you have to do.

@Smarti- your work is very very good. A lot of this critique is more about opinion than there being something wrong with your models. If your models look good in marmoset, then they will look good in-game. A screenshot isn't a good representation and sketchfab doesn't render textures very well. Only put stock in opinions from people that have seen the 3ds file or have seen them in-game.

What I wish for, is that some

What I wish for, is that some day people will make suggestions on DESIGNS, instead of models. I only get pats on the back when I post a new concept art piece, but as soon as a modeller posts some first early WIP - suddenly everyone has three cents to throw in as to how to improve the idea. Just as it was with the Imperial armours - the concept art piece was hanging in the Concept art forums for months before modelling started. First model's WIP - suddenly 6 wild loremasters appeared to shred it to pieces with contradicting suggestions and ideas. Some of them were good, some were very legit, but then ALL of them should've been said before the modelling even started.

Not talking about this particular piece of gear since it's pretty much a 1:1 copy of Morrowind's design and had no concept art done for it, but that was often the main problem with feedback gotten on the forums, and also a recurring one. Drives modellers crazy, while it should've been the designers who push the style to the limits, as modellers already have enough quality-related technicalities on their mind.

I think its looks fine. Yeah

I think its looks fine. Yeah it looks yellow but won't that be desaturated once it gets in game?

Smarti don't take is so seriously, you're going to get criticism whether you like it or not from people. I've said before that if modellers don't want random criticism, don't post the images. Do it on a one to one basis with Dragomir or something.

Don't let it get you down, you are a extremely talented modeller. I love your work <3
