I figured since a few people are working on Skyblivion/Oblivirim I'd post this for the future.
Note: Oblivirim/Skyblivion's master file is quite big and can take up to 10 to 20 minutes to open in CK(yes, I said 10 to 20 minutes). I suggest loading Skyrim.esm alone in the CK first, and when the CK has loaded Skyrim.esm, try opening Skyrim.esm and Oblivion_sk.esm together.
Note: Video tutorial for fixing the face bug.
MOONCAT'S NPC TUTORIAL:
Here's a breakdown of the sections of the Skyrim Actor window, along with my suggested actions:
Basic Info (Left-hand side):
ID: The ID of the NPC. Follow the ID naming conventions we established.
Name: Name of the NPC.
Short Name: Name that appears in subtitles. Leaving it blank will display the NPC's full name.
Flags:
Is CharGen Face Preset: Leave unchecked
Essential: Keep same as Morroblivion NPC
Protected: Only PC can kill this NPC. Leave unchecked for now?
Respawn: Keep same as Morroblivion NPC
Unique: If NPC is unique (named NPC, as opposed to a respawning bandit), check this.
Summonable: If NPC is a summon.
Is Ghost: If NPC is a ghost.
Invulnerable: If NPC should be invincible.
Doesn't Bleed: Leave unchecked (unless NPC is a robot or something?)
Simple Actor: Leave unchecked
Doesn't affect Stealth Meter: Leave unchecked
Traits Tab
Instructions needs to be updated
Stats
Do we want to fill this out later? We still need to figure out what Skyrim classes correspond to Morrowind classes.
Factions, Relationships, Keywords
Skip for now.
AI Data
Fill out according to the NPC you have and the info here. In Oblivion, an Aggression of 5 or lower is equal to 0 in Skyrim. Leave the Aggro Radius Behavior box unchecked. Remember to pick an appropriate Combat Style.
AI Packages - Attack Data
Skip for now. Most of this can't be fixed up until we have more items/spells/etc. finished.
Character Gen Parts
Make your NPC pretty.

Do we double the level like the Skywind Npcs?
Isn't it a little early to talk about oblivion ncps we haven't even finished Morrowind yet.
Edit: and there isn't even a skyblivion forums section.
i disapeared for a while but i did origionally want to work on this, and in about a week or so i will have finished with my current project (a video game im programming for a compition) and i will deffinatley give this a try, just to speed ahead development

Well some people seem to really want to work on Skyblivion, and I posted this in mind for the future. Plus I didn't wanna see the npc amounts won't get lost in the endless Skywind threads.
Is this alright?

Cool thanks, I was just wondering what hairstyle do I choose instead of these two??

Yeah that could be a problem. I wish Skyrim had kept the Oblivion hairstyles(but made them better looking) as well as adding new ones.
Would anyone be able to port the hairstyles over from oblivion?
Well, the hairstyles mightn't even fit the Skyrim heads. I'm just gonna check the nexus in case there is a mod that might add some hairstyles like the ones in those Oblivion pics.
Ok cool thanks :))
Oh btw what do you think of the Gray Prince, I'm not too sure of him, any criticisms? ( Oh and that's how fat I could get his face haha! )
Couldn't really find any.
Oh great. I tried running the CK, my computer froze, I turned it off with the button on the tower, it turned back on saying that my computer was overclocked and now games run much slower...fuck my life...
I'm just about finished the Orcs males, I could try the High elf males now :)
Hmmm, I just realized that I think I forgot to load The Knights of the Nine, SI, and the other dlcs when I counted up the npcs. Was the The Knights of the Nine, SI and all the other dlcs even converted over to Skyblivion?
EDIT: It seems SI got converted over, but none of the dlc. Too bad, I like Knights of the Nine. It should be pretty easy to convert over anyway. I guess this was done on purpose because Beth might get pissy for giving away dlc. Which brings up the question, can you still buy Oblivion dlc separately? I figured they bundle it all together now.
The worldspace name for SI is and_seworld, so it's there (without lod and with default trees), don't know about the rest. Btw does anybody know the location codes for New Sheoth and the palace?
alright im gonna give an argonian male a try once ive donwloaded and installed skyblivion, hopefully i can make it look good
Keep in mind that the CK is bugged when it comes to Argonians, you won't be able to zoom into their face. I'm not sure if this was fixed in the newer CK.
If needed check out if this tool is useful.
Skyrim NPC Editor 0_75_1 by foretrenty

Won't work. I've tried that program before, it doesn't like opening two master files at the same time. I had to edit the Argonians the hard way, it's a good thing most were slaves anyway.
i really wanted to do some of the npc's but CK just crashes after trying to open skyblivion, it loda for 10 minutes then closes unexpectedly, i tried opening it though linux with wine as well, and that wirks but its so slow i want to stab myself, looks like a i need a new computer, real sorrry guys :\
It doesn't crash, it just takes really really long to load up when loading with Skyrim. Here is a hint to tell your CK is still loading just fine, stare at the EditorWarnings.txt in your Skyrim directory, the file size should raise and raise, then reset, and raise and raise once again.
I will start helping with this when I finish my Skywind npc's. Are there any differences between this and the Skywind process of adding npc's?
I imagine this won't get much attention until at least Skywind's npc's and quests are finished. Do we have people working on any other tasks yet? (quest conversion, navmeshing?) We need an action plan thread for here too, as SB suggested.
Andynev1 has been working on armor and races, he should make a thread for that and that can be the official page for that task. The more organized we are the better! :)
first of all i cant load skyrim and oblivion data files at the same time, so in consequence i cant see npc's while making them and im not even sure it would work if i did make them anyway, am i missing something is some exact step by step guide for making the npcs for oblivion, i have made heaps of npc's for skyrim but it just wont work, and on top of that i cant find this naming convention, not sure it's worth trying when i cant even make the npcs's
Finished high elves, could I will start on Khajiit females soon! :-)
All of my FaceGenData saved into one folder because of the Oblivisky esm. Ill upload all of them together when I finish the khajiit
@andynev1
Keep a backup of all your npcs, just in case your links die. That pretty much goes to everyone making npcs.
@Jamman
Can you go in-game with Skyblivion?
I can go in and everything runs fine, except when i try the tree mod, but im fine with dead treees
edit: dont worry, i had reinstalled skyrim recently and forgot to allow multiple masters in creation kits .ini
edit 2: seems you really cant zoom in on argonians faces, oh well but i still wish to know that naming convention, also argonians have no fins to choose from and basically there terrible, but i shall try my best
Yup, you cannot view their faces, you have to zoom in on them with full checked. As for the choices, yeah, they suck.
At least you got Oblivion loaded with Skyrim, I remember a few people got stuck at 60 something percent. Oblivion just takes a bit to load up, you just have to be patient!
oh well here is the best i could do, i really struggled with tinting him red just couldnt get it to looks right, hopefully it is the lighting.
Well keep in mind that Oblivion and Skyrim have two completely different styles. If something looks bad, you can always tweak it in the future, no npc is permanent.
this is probably already a reported bug but after you exit the editor it shows that the charecters you made are not actually in the game and if you go to there location there not there, but they all are in game
edit:also is there a way to find places in the wolderness e.g
Peryite's Shrine cause it could take forever to find it as i think it doesnt have name its just in the wilderness
Here is the first 10 or so important argonian npc's the only ones that i think you can get to is one in the elven gardens district, and one at the waterfront
(it's just the esp, im not sure if thats all you need or not)
http://www.mediafire.com/?rnki1o57la2xc1w
The face gen data is also required.
where are they located? or do i have to export them from creation kit
Yes, you have to export after you make every single npc. Just hit ctrl + F4
I've never made any Oblivion npcs, but I'm sure it's the same thing, but a different folder.
Data\meshes\Actors\Character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom\Oblivion_sk.esm
The .dds and .tga files are in Data\textures\Actors\Character\FaceGenData\FaceTint\Oblivion_sk.esm
From that picture the argonains are looking really nice! the only thing that would make them better would be if they were closer to red :))
Males: Orcs and High elves complete with facegen data http://www.mediafire.com/?p517670cvdwylm7
I will finish Khajiit females soon and start on another race :))
http://www.sureai.de/download/development/YourOwnMaster.zip
Anyone working on npcs I suggest you download this, and back up your Skyrim.esm first. Do not over write your Skyrim.esm for this file, for the love of god backup your Skyrim.esm, unless you wanna re-install Skyrim. You've been warned!
This stripped down Skyrim master file speeds up the loading process by a whole lot. No more evil array errors!
I'll just start looking at the settings at first, as I'm new to modding. As soon as I know how everything works, I'll start doing a race for the project.
I'd like to get started with the manual conversions, but I don't know the CK well enough. Could someone perhaps tell me how to get to the properties for a given npc?
I figured out how to open the npc properties, so that's no longer a problem. What are the ID naming conventions used? And how do I know if the npc should be essential? Or do I make it the same as in Oblivion? I also can't find the character gen parts.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uQYuTlL50U&feature=youtu.be
There's the video guide on making the npcs. It's for Skywind, but it's pretty much the same, just opening different master files.
It seems I still had an old version of the ck, so that probably caused my issues with the character gen. I'll try the orc female.
Orc Males
Khajiit Females
Altmer males
http://www.mediafire.com/?qz6cqgdiutij1qn
I will do Male Nords next, oh and I was wondering If I could give some of them beards if it suited them or do they all have to be beardless milk drinkers?
I feel that some Nords should have beards if they look good with them [maybe most of them?]. I think that they don't have them only because of oblivion engine (at least I didn't find a way how to make my character proper beard in oblivion)
This is the first conversion, Any suggestions as to possible improvements? The NPC is Batul gra-Sharob.
The notable memorable nord nps I wont change, but If one looks very similar and just better with a beard i might add it and if people don't like ill change it, Im sure nobody will mind :DD
Well keep in mind, no npc is set in stone, changes can be made in the future. =p
