Tumbajamba generously gave me 16 different Goblin models. When I have time to, I'll post the screenshots in this thread. All he asks is that sureai.de is credited.

Tribunal Goblins
Edited by: grumpycat on 12/08/2013 - 17:01

Here are two screenshots I already had and some of you have already seen. But this is just a preview. There are many more.
Now that I'm on my computer that has Skyrim on it, I'll be uploading more screenshots. Here's a Goblin Warchief model. This should apply to the two unique Goblin bosses,Warchief Durog and Warchief Kurog
This is the Goblin Officer
This is just a normal Goblin. The Goblins in Tribunal that were just labeled "Goblin"
Here's a Goblin Footsoldier with a Durzog
Here's a Goblin Bruiser
Here's a Goblin Handler. That should cover all the different Goblin varieties in Tribunal. I'll make another image comparing these ones to the Skyrim Immersive Creatures once too.
So here's a comparison between the Skyrim Immersive Creatures Goblins and the Goblins that Tumbajamba gave me. I believe tumbajamba's ones are a lot more high quality and they look more like Goblins. Plus it makes sense for Goblins and Rieklings to look similar because Rieklings are a Goblin variant. Falmer and Goblins have no relation.
I have a couple questions:
1) why don't you just edit your last post rather then making a bunch on new one
2)can we use them for skyblivion as well
3)Are you gonna patch them into the game or are you gonna let some one else. (I'll gladly patch them into Skyblivion if you release them to me)
1. Because I'm kind of new to this site and I'm still learning the ropes.
2. I'll have to ask Tumbajamba
3. The CK does not work on my computer so somebody else is going to have to do it.
Here's the models and textures for the Goblins.

The password is Skywind.
If you don't know how to add them in game, just use this mod http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31533.
Just install the textures from my mediafire link then replacer the mesh from that mod's optional Goblin file with the Goblin variant you want to look at in game.
You know I actually think we should make our own goblins those don't look very much like the ones from Oblvion or tribunal
Tribunal:
Oblivion:
A lot of things we're using don't look exactly how they did in Morrowind or Oblivion. That's because they're Skyrim modernized. Since the Dragonborn DLC already comes with Snow Goblins, we already have a picture of what the Goblins should look like on the Skyrim Engine.
I don't know, I'm looking at a picture of Tribunal's goblins and Bloodmoon's rieklings, and I have to say that they don't really look too similar, either. Dragonborn's rieklings may have been based on a POC for goblins (from the Game Jam), but I don't think that's evidence that rieklings are actually a subspecies of goblin.
That said, I also kind of feel like adding more work for ourselves is the last thing we should be doing.
SupremeEpicness wrote:
This is what I was thinking. Reiklings only look different from Goblins because they have evolved in the environment of Solstheim. As you can see, Goblins themselves look pretty consistent from Morrowind to Oblivion^ I wouldn't classify Reiklings as Snow Goblins, a Reikling with Green skin isn't a Goblin, they are very clearly physically different because they live in different places in Tamriel.
I think that these Goblin models are fine for now, but really we should make ones based off of the Morrowind and Oblivion Goblins as a goal, because they are very dfferent from Green skinned Reiklings.
Also, the Game jam Goblins are nothing to go on, they were made by one developer at Bethesda as one of the things they wanted to put in the game for fun. They clearly were modified into Reiklings for Dragonborn, but they already looked like Reiklings in the first place.
How is using resources we already have more work? Also, they say in Bloodmoon that Goblins and Rieklings are related.

Meaning, while making our own models based on the Morrowind Goblins would be better, he still doesn't think doing unnecessary work would be a good thing.
And I agree, as I said, these models are fine for now. But they look very, different from Morrowind and Oblivion Goblins. And as there aren't any official Skyrim Goblins, the only lore friendly ones are from Morrowind and Oblivion. Also, even though you are saying that the Rieklings and Goblins are related, that is true. But look at the Morrowind Goblin, compared to the Morrowind Riekling, both in the same game, yet look totally different, due to difference in habitat, even though they are related.
So they clearly weren't intended to simply be skin color variations of the same creature.
It's not just a retexture btw. It's a retexture AND a remodel..png)
Also, the Goblin picture you posted was at a bad angle. This picture doesn't actually have that many differences from the Goblins I brought to the sight. Nose size is the only real difference.
I see that, but still, you can clearly tell that they are simply Green Rieklings, I'm not hating on the mod author, I like this mod as Goblins aren't in Skyrim, and this is a fine substitute.
But Goblins and Reiklings look dramatically more different from eachother, and it has actually never been proven anywhere in lore that Rieklings aren't a form of Falmer.
In fact almost all information on the matter points to the possibility of them being an isolated Tribe of Falmer, who degenerated differently from the Falmer in Skyrim.
The body size is a MASSIVE difference, the Goblin picture you just posted only makes me see the differences even more, the Mod Goblin would stand hardly up to the Oblivion Goblin's waist!
Compare the Goblins from Morrowind and Oblivion to the Mod Goblin
Its rather clear that Goblins and Rieklings were intended to be very different.
They can always be resized.
But does anyone else notice the Oblivion Goblin picture I posted has a penis? I didn't notice that until 2 minutes ago. I have over 200 hours on my Oblivion save file and I never noticed that.
Looks more like WoW goblins to me.
@Mooncat: I see where you're coming, that it's easier and will take a lot less time to just use those goblins. But we can't just take short cuts on stuff if it makes things feel less like morrowind. I'm okay if the creatures look similar but they look nothing alike The reikling goblins have big noses ,when in the elder scrolls they have smaller noses and big gorilla(ish) mouths. The reikling goblins stand upright, while the other ones have hunch backs. To me they just don't have the same feel as they used to. That's why I think we should eventually make our own(I think these should just be used as place holders). I mean if we don't keep the feel of the games the same why don't we just replace all the models in morrowind with skyrim ones.
@GendunDrup: The difference between the new stuff we make and this stuff is that even though the new stuff doesn't look very much like the original stuff, it still does have a similar feel.
I don't know what pictures you're looking at. The Goblins I brought do have hunched backs.
To me it looks more like they're just slouching over. In the Oblivion picture you can see the goblin has a hunch in it's back right behind the neck. Those new goblins just look like they are leaning forward
SupremeEpicness wrote:
Agreed, WoW Goblins were literally the first thing that came to mind when I saw these, and again. There is no evidence that Rieklings are a variant of Goblin, almost all theory on the matter has been people saying that they are most likely a form of Snow Elf.
Even if they WERE related to Goblins, they still look very, very different. A Great Dane and a Pug are both Dogs. But would you paint a Pug grey and try to convince people it was a Great Dane?
And this isn't a lazy way out. Somebody did take the time to remodel and retexture the Rieklings. They're not being used in anything else. Besides, you seem to be taking a lot of time out of your day to antagonize me for going and collecting all these models that took hours for me to convince him to let us use.
Its not antagonizing, if you consider us to be antagonizing you then you are antagonizing yourself. I can understand why you might want to use these models indefinitely because you spent the time to get them. And they are good placeholders, but they don't look like Morrowind Goblins, and that is all that I have been saying.
Not you Sheepdog. You're fine.
GendunDrup wrote:
Sorry, I wasn't trying to antagonize you. We cool bro.
I was just saying that, it's the lazy way out when instead of making goblins ourselves, we simply take what is the equivalent of a modder resource to fill such a major part of the mods. The point of the new stuff is to have the same feel of the originals but look better. These don't fit those requirements. they are fine as place holders, but I think we can make something better that actually has the same feel as Morrowind and Oblivion ourselves.
Anyway, this has gotten a bit out of hand. All this was supposed to be was me showing off the Goblins that happychappy liked.
I think until there is any real alternative these goblins be used. And then, if at a later date someone else produces goblins that are deemed 'better' for the purposes of this project, we use new ones. In the mean time these are a far better place holder than a rat :)

Lol what? It agreed with what I was proposing, "This" means that I completely agree with it. And Its not like this is a dead thread that I just bumped back to the top.

I know what "This" meant. I was just saying that we both already said what mycorn said

Got it. Thanks!
I probably won't be the fastest at this, as I've never set up a new race before. Since (as far as I can tell -- remember, race newb) this package doesn't seem to contain any animations, I'm guessing I should just copy the Riekling race and set it to use these meshes and textures. Sounds straightforward enough.
[Edit]
Just to be clear, I'm not expecting you guys to hand the answers to me on a silver platter. I wouldn't have volunteered if I didn't think I could figure this out on my own -- I'm just voicing my thoughts out loud. I'll soon find out if I'm on the right track or not. =P
Pretty much, it's hooked to a vanilla creature's skeleton like most elder scrolls mod creatures.
I've been lurking on this forum for quite a long time. I love the project and consider Morrowind the greatest Role-Playing game ever created. I believe I finally have something to contribute. I've been modeling for a couple of days (Thank you SheepDogWoof for inspiring me) and I've got an extremely preliminary version of the standard Goblin from Tribunal, I have tried to keep it true to the original concept. I'm using Scupltris (a free, very primitive version of it's commercial counterpart) because I just bought a new laptop and don't have $700 to drop on Zbrush, but from what I understand, Sculptris files can be converted to Zbrush models, so you guys can make any necessary changes. Also, any changes or criticisms you have are welcome.
*Edit* Now with legs! Also a comparison with original Morrowind Models:
Ooh, that looks neato.
I know you guys want to make the game as much like Morrowind and lore-friendly as possible, but there are way more things to be done then work on new goblin models. I think the ones Gendum got are really good... Sorry if I seem like I am just coming in here and telling you guys your business, but I just wanted to give me input :/
What would you prefer to see worked on then? I think we should strive to get as close as possible when we don't have similar enough models, and if someone wants to rectify this problem then that's their prerogative.
Well, one model won't do it. We need 6 different kinds of Goblins. And Tumbajamba gave me 16. I would defiantly approve of that other Goblin model if you manage to make 6 different models.
Looks pretty good but I think you should make the ears longer.
Very impressed, especially when I realised this was done on Sculptris and not Zbrush, another upstart modeler suddenly pops into existence (:
Here's my two cents: As of now, we use the models Tumbajamba made. As new models are created we replace those with more accurate ones. I will continue to work on models, but due to my time schedule and the fact that I am using Sculptris and not Zbrush, they will most likely come along slowly compared to the work of other modelers. It makes sense that because I am working slowly, I should do less high priority work so the project is not waiting on me. If there are other things that need doing though, I am more than willing to be reassigned.
And thanks SheepDog!
Cassius - That's my thinking, too. I'm still gonna set up Tumbajumba's goblins for Skywind, and we can stick your models in when they're good and ready.
I figure this is a good task for me, too, since my time is at a premium and goblins aren't terribly common (i.e., only in Tribunal, which was never even fully implemented in Morroblivion), so there's no rush.
Before I start detailing, adding hands and feet, and adding clothing...Does this seem like an accurate remake of the original model?
Looks pretty accurate to me. Maybe the mouth should be made a bit longer?
Nice job! :)
